Damian saw Welcome to Jamrock as his big break (although his album Halfway Tree won a Grammy in 2001). His advice to UK talent was, "Be an honest critic of yourself...dealing with your own quality control. When you have something tuff, you know it's tuff.
"Also really you have to build up interest...in terms of getting the industry to want to invest in your music...Build up within your community like mixtapes, doing concerts - the slow but sure, win the race."
