Bonfire event off after rain prompts safety fears

A firework display has been cancelled over safety concerns following recent heavy rain.
Wakefield Council said Saturday's event at Thornes Park would not be going ahead after the bad weather had "made the site too unsafe".
A spokesperson said: "It's really disappointing and we’re sorry to let you down, but safety comes first."
They added that Storm Ciarán was also likely to bring further heavy rain and high winds.
The council has encouraged residents to attend organised events to celebrate Bonfire Night due to risks when hosting events at home.
West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service urged anybody having their own bonfire or firework display to read the .
