Since late 2018 the 成人论坛 has been rolling out 成人论坛 Young Reporter workshops and videos to young audiences in Nigeria and Kenya.

Kenya and Nigeria have been targeted by purveyors of damaging disinformation during elections and hazardous health hoaxes are commonplace.

• The way social media can amplify misinformation and fake news is poorly understood.
• Many people, especially in rural African communities, use social media platforms as their sole source of news.

These workshops and videos help younger audiences question whether what they are watching or reading can be trusted. These young people can be important ambassadors for sharing this critical thinking and to slow down the sharing of unverified, sometimes malicious content.
