5 top tips on how to turn your passion into a career

  • Think broadly when it comes to careers. Think about job sectors rather than specific jobs, there might be jobs within a sector that could really appeal to you
  • Think about what you spend most of your time doing or thinking about. It will help you understand what you’re really passionate about
  • It’s also fine to keep your passion and your work separate if it’s better for you
  • Give it a go. Try doing your passion as a job. You’ll know if it’s right or not for you
  • Imagine yourself at a party and you're talking to somebody, but you can overhear a conversation going on behind you. What's the kind of topic that would make you want to turn around and join in that conversation? That can really help you realise what you're passionate about.
