Taking turns and sharing are important skills for young children to grasp before and during their time at primary school. Claire Russell offers her ideas on how you can encourage these skills at home which will help them get along with others.
Claire's tips:
- Model sharing and taking turns by playing with your child's toy and encouraging them to wait for their go (note - if Covid restrictions allow).
- Playing simple board games works well too!
- Sand or digital timers are a great visual tool that can help them to learn about waiting.
- Give them lots of opportunities to share with other children.
