How to spot reptiles
Reptiles have dry, scaly skin like this snake.
They have lungs, they are Animals that cannot control their body temperature by themselves. They need to lie in the sun's ray to stay warm or the shade to cool down. All reptiles are cold-blooded. and lay eggs.

Reptiles look a lot like dinosaurs.
In fact, dinosaurs were reptiles.
Not all reptiles have four legs and look like a dinosaur.
Some have no legs, like these snakes.
And aren't slimy, but have dry scaly skin.
Some give birth to live young.
But mostly they lay eggs.
Reptiles are cold blooded.
This means they can't keep warm without help.
But also means they can get too hot.
So reptiles like crocodiles, hang out by water to cool down.
Some are 'squeezers', some are 'biters鈥 and some are a little bit different.
But something they all have in common, is that they all have lungs and breathe air.
