Marta: What do you know about different countries?

Jason: Hi, my name is Jason and this is my family. This is my Mummy. This is my Daddy, and this is my little sister, Theia. We all live together in the UK.

These are my Mummy's parents, which means they are my grandparents. They live in China and they speak a language called Mandarin.

In Mandarin, ‘wài pó’ means 'Grandma', ‘wài gōng’ means 'Grandpa' and 'nĭ hăo' means 'hello'.

Jason: Most people in China speak Mandarin. My Mummy helps me to speak Mandarin too.

This is how you write my name in Mandarin. And I love finding out about a different country.

Marta's Mummy: Hola.

Marta: ‘Hola’ means 'hello’ in Spanish. We all speak English and Spanish, because my Daddy is from the UK and my Mummy is from Spain. Now we all live together in the UK.

It’s fun to say words in different languages. The Spanish word for ‘garlic’ is ‘ajo’.

I like to learn more about Spain by cooking Spanish meals with my Daddy. One of our favourite things to make together is paella. We use a special pan called a ‘paellera’.
