Sammie: What do you know about the past?

Hello, my name's Sammie, and this is my family.

This is my Mummy. This is my Daddy. This is my Nanny. This is my Pops, and this is my little brother, Teddie.

We like going for walks and talking about the past.

This city is very old. Two thousand years ago, a group of people called the Romans came to Britain from Ancient Rome. They dressed like this! This is my special Roman hat called a helmet. And these are my Roman clothes.

Did you know, the Romans were great engineers? They built lots of things, like buildings and roads. You can still see some of them today.

It’s so much fun finding out about the past.

We like looking at old photos together and talking about our family history.

Here's a photo of my Nanna and Gaga.  They live in Barbados. And I live in the UK.

Barbados is a small island far away from the UK, so we keep in touch with Nanna and Gaga on video calls.

When my Nanna was young, she didn't have video calls, so if she wanted to speak to someone, she had to write a letter.

I like it when my Gaga shows me old photos. Some of them are really funny.

Gaga: This is me when I was about five years old, and I had, well, hair!

Ferne: Looking at old photos can help us remember and learn more about the past.

I love talking to Nanna and Gaga and I love looking at old photos.
