Entitled twelvefourbythreeateagleworks the exhibition looks to draw on the history of the Eagle Works building in Wolverhampton and display the group's relationship to its environment. Each of the Eagle Work's artists were asked to contribute a wall based four-foot by three-foot piece - reflecting the measurements of the windows within the building and gallery - revealing the historical use and importance of the building.

The pieces reflect their personal thoughts on the history and environment of the Eagle Works building.听 The building itself, on Great Brickklin Street, originally operated as a gun making factory supplying the British army during the Crimean War. The exhibition was created to tie-in with the development of a major extension at the Wolverhampton Art Gallery which will house the Pop Art exhibit and is funded by the Arts Council. It is hoped that the exhibition can draw attention to the city's adaptation to new industries and how the coming and going of different types of work has existed in Wolverhamtpon's oldest buildings.

Artist Simon Francis, who's work features in the display, said: "We felt that as the gallery extension is new and is looking forward to the future, we would reflect upon the past and dwell upon our own history and that of the building." twelvefourbythreeateagleworks will be open from 24th March until 28th April, 2007, and is available for viewing by prior arrangement by calling 01902 425958.
