Scott Matthews picked up the Best Song Musically & Lyrically 'Ivor' award at a star-studded ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, 24th of May 2007. Matthews' track Elusive was judged to be the best song of 2006 by The British Academy of Composers & Songwriters.

It beat stiff competition from Arctic Monkeys' When The Sun Goes Down and Nerina Pallot's Sophia. Matthews, from Wolverhampton, is now in illustrious company. The Ivors are considered among the most prestigious awards in British music. Past winners include; Barry Gibb, David Bowie, Lou Reed, Mick Jagger & Keith Richards and John Lennon. Elusive was the first single to be taken from Passing Stranger, the singer-songwriter's debut album. It was first released in September 2006. To mark its success the track is being re-released on 18th June 2007. A new deluxe edition of Passing Stranger will be re-released on the 25th of June.
