Halesowen

A carol service, a barbershop quartet, medieval re-enactments and a festive-themed circus act have been among the entertainment on offer for shoppers in Halesowen where the town's schools also performed for the Mayor of Dudley.

On Saturday 15th December the Jazz Ramblers perform Christmas classics in Somer Square. Popular circus act Brum and Dudley will be stilt walking and juggling as Father Christmas and his mischievous helper on the High Street.

A free small children鈥檚 fair complete with merry-go-rounds, teacups and a mini waltzer will provide fun for youngsters on Friday December 21 on Somer Square.

On Saturday 22nd December there will be an open-air carol service in Somer Square from Halesowen鈥檚 Churches Together group from 11.30am to 1pm.

Stourbridge

Characters from Doctor Who, Star Wars and Star Trek took part in the Christmas lights switch on with Titan the robot one of the star attractions before children met Santa.

Wednesfield Christmas lights switch-on

Parking charges are suspended all day for the Saturdays during the run up to Christmas.

The town's farmers and craft market returns to its usual position on Saturday 15 December.

Stourbridge Churches Together will be performing carols under the town clock on Saturday 22nd December to emphasise the true meaning of Christmas and complete Stourbridge's festive programme.

Stourbridge Glass Centre - Christmas Festival

In December, Stourbridge Glass Centre staged its Christmas Festival when children enjoyed the Elves and the Shoemaker and free fairground rides at the Ruskin Glass Centre.

December 2007 also saw the Stourbridge and District branch of Cats Protection holding its annual festive event in Brierley Hill.

Winter Wonderland at Mary Steven's Park

A special Winter Wonderland and Santa's Groto is being held on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th in Mary Steven's Park in Stourbridge from 10.30am - 5pm.

Christmas in Sandwell

Visitors will be treated to a funfair, food, stalls and music.

Dudley

The annual Christmas lights switch on took place in November with Neighbours' Sky Bishop Mangle, Stephanie McIntosh, the celebrity guest.

Dudley Council has also asked everyone to reduce, reuse and recycle for a greener Christmas 2007.

The pledges can be anything from reusing last year鈥檚 gift bags, wasting less food by shopping carefully or recycling more of the things we use at Christmas.

A number of primary schools across the borough are also getting involved as children are making some of the centre鈥檚 pledge cards and offering their own Christmas promises.

There will be prizes for the best green pledges including a range of eco-friendly gifts from Tesco.
