The Olympics and Paralympics are the biggest events to occur in the UK this year, and 5 live is privileged to be host broadcaster.
However, due to rights restrictions we're unable to broadcast our Olympics coverage to our international audience who listen online.
All of 5 live's coverage, except Up All Night, will be UK-only online - including clips - for the duration of the Olympic Games. Likewise for our sister station 5 live Olympics Extra.

Another F1 weekend and another rain cloud following me around the world! Firstly, sorry for the delay in writing this blog. I usually like to write them as soon as I can but it's taken me almost a week to dry and out recover for what has to be one of my busiest (and best) weeks ever.

I spent over six months attempting to meet our 114 Olympic champions, and while I would not dare single out individual Olympians for more praise than others, I think the stories surrounding those more mature Gold Medallists will stay with me most.
Maybe it’s because they’re from a more innocent era, or maybe it has something to do with the fact that it was all for the love of sport back then and not for financial gain. Although that’s maybe a bit harsh, as most modern day champions have the Olympic ideal seeping from every pore.
So it's quite possible that my golden boys and girls from Olympics past, genuinely, had to remember answers to questions that had not been asked of them for a long time. That, I'm afraid, is probably the only downside to Gold Run…the fact that most Olympians who won gold before 1980 are pretty much 'off the radar'. Yet these people deserve to be cherished as much as any of today's high profile superstars.

Despite the best efforts of the weather, 5 live's biggest ever summer of sport is well underway.
We've already had some tremendous football at the where we covered every game live; it was a wonderful Wimbledon fortnight culminating in Andy Murray's first Wimbledon final which gave us one of the most tense afternoons of radio you could listen to.
