A lot of the time I would just like to quickly view what it online NOW and what's going to be on next, at a glance. Like the teletext service.

An RSS feed would be perfect for this, particularly if I could integrate it with my personal google homepage.

Example:
³ÉÈËÂÛ̳1: Now: 20:00 - 21:00 - The News
³ÉÈËÂÛ̳1 Next: 21:00 - 23:00 - Film: A Random Film
³ÉÈËÂÛ̳2: Now:
³ÉÈËÂÛ̳2: Next:

I’ve just come off stage here at the in Brighton. I was talking about and it’s involvement in the Web2.0 community. I also gave the first public demo of the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Programme Catalogue project, which and are currently working on (that project is hopefully due to be launched in beta in the new year).

There’s a great crowd of people here at d.construct – perhaps 80 or so. We’ve been listening to speakers ranging from AJAX experts through to the representatives of other sites with a Web2.0 presence (such as from ).

My presentation from the event is available here.

The ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ News Website is currently running a .

Promoted as "Have your say: Are you mashing, remixing and creating on the web?", it’s an opportunity for you to tell the typically-mainstream ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ News audience about the kinds of things you are up to – whether it be on , Creative Archive or maybe somewhere else that’s not ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳.

It’s also an opportunity to check out the recently-launched Slashdot-style community space on the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ News Website. Now reactively moderated, users can rate the merits of each other’s posts – bubbling up good comments to the surface and ensuring the debate flows in the right directions.

Today I'm (Jem) in Bradford taking part in a launch day for what we're calling the . The strapline is "seeking regional companies to imagine the future of bbc.co.uk". Its a pilot project to commission early stage prototypes from indies and developers in the North West, Yorkshire and London. We'll be reporting on its progress on Backstage and eventually the products that this project will help support will be hosted here. There are further events in North West and London later this month.

Two quick things:

Matt Locke (Head of Innovation at bbc.co.uk) who is running the events has just cited these Backstage prototypes; Davy Mitchell's , and Mario Menti's searching to illustrate how the Backstage community has developed and implemented some great ideas.

, the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳'s Controller, Internet said as part of his presentation.

"The ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ needs to break out of its website and be part of the internet. We need to make our solutions available to everyone else."
