    Attention all regular froggers:

I've just done a quick tally of the blogs on the beach and it would appear that, based on the average rate of blogging thereon over the last ten days (i.e. since AndyC first led us back there) we will reach the big 1-0-0-0 within the next week, give or take a day.

Thought needs to be given urgently therefore to our plans to mark this monumental event. We must, indeed, make sure that Lord Mair keeps his diary 'clear' so that he can join us to mark the day.

I suggest that all regular froggers make a point of posting over the next 24 hours to give their views on how we can mark the day?

  34. At 03:19 PM on 02 Nov 2006, Big Sister wrote:

    PS to last post:

Perhaps we need to post those views on the Beach? Otherwise they may get lost in the threads.

Oh dear, the frogs playing up again.

The PS which was posted at 3.19 (post 35 at the last count) was to a post which doesn't seem to have appeared.

This was to let froggers know that we're in line to reach the big 1000 on the Beach in about a week. We need to plan how to mark it - and we need to make sure Lord Mair keeps his diary clear to celebrate it with us.

I suggested we post, over the next 24 hours, ideas of how to mark it, and the PS was to suggest that we posted those suggestions on the Beach.

Hope this gets through and - more to the point - that it makes sense!

Anne P. (60), you say that the beach is slow to load. This may be partly because of the number of entries there. If you look at the size of the page, you'll find that it weighs in at 1.6Mb. That's a lot of wrinting by the regular froggers. I assume that all the regular visitors are on broadband, but anyone who tries to visit from a dial-up connection could be in for a long wait while it loads.

But then, most people who visit the beach for warm weather and sunshine are in no particular hurry for things to happen. Just relax, chill out, and think relaxing thoughts.

I've just had a wierd experience, as I was turning on the lamp in my front room I was thinking that it would be nice to have a better lighting system in here, just one lamp is ok, but ... the bulb blew. Instantly, Eddie said something about changing light bulbs. Wooo.

More Wooo - Eddies just mentioned the light bulb jokes that are coming in. I'm living in a twighlight world ...

(ps I've a new link for you all to look at, some photo/digi art rather than paintings, just thought I'd mention it. There's a light bulb pic there too.)

No, I believe that has been proven to be 42.

Today's strapline is either a bit weird, or grammatically incorrect. I suspect the latter, and that (s)he meant "that dispels..."

If anyone's interested, I will be celebrating the meaning of MY life at the Oak on Fri 24 Nov with music and pals.

It's my regular acoustic night, which this month coincides with me hitting forty-two. Talk about forward planning!!!

    All froggers especially welcome.

That's annoying - I frogged a response to Doc's (97) hours ago (pointing out that the meaning of life is "42" rather than "weird") and is hasn't appeared. What was offensive about that?

Your 97 hours were not wasted, apparently. I think you get 鈥42鈥 if you digi-translate 鈥榳eird鈥, which is originally from an obscure sub-Galactic language.

I see. If you are to be belived then Doc - and I have no reason not to believe you I suppose - the answer is therfore "Yes, it is weird". Although, as you clearly knew this, I'm not sure why you were asking...?...

97 hours may have been a slight exaggeration, but it was over 8 hours before I next posted - and that post seems to have pushed the first one through the blockage. This has happened to me several times. Anyone have a technical explanation? Lissa? Anyone?...

Appy, 104, I've found the same kind of thing happening, it's as if the blockage is in one's own pc/laptop, and the comment kinda clings on to the end of the tube with all its little claws, going "no, no, i won't go.." until the next one whooshes down the pipeline and sweeps it away with the force of its own wit.

Or is that just me then? Maybe it's bedtime, it's been a funny day right enough.
