Obviously I always travel first class or higher. And when I am ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Chairman, everyone will. Especially people at the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳.

I see that second class passengers have to sit three abreast - does that mean six abreast altogether?
Did China have the sense to adopt a wider gauge than we have here? Alas for Brunel and the GWR.

No, Anne P - three abreast on one side, two only on the other. A bit cramped. First class - which I wandered into - was two on each side, big wide seats like Business Class in a plane.

I never notice litter in TV footage in China, despite their ignorance of or indifference to industrial pollution. This may be trivial, but how tidy are people, out and about in cities?

And motorised street cleaners too - I saw one that washes the safety rail along a main road in Nanjing, by clamping a whizzy brush thing over the top to reach both sides. Stand well back.
