Ta very muchly - what service!
I think Eddie's going for another of his "multiple threads" days. Hang on tight, everyone!
We all now await with bated breath Marc The New Blog Prince's succinct and non-tecky explanation for why it keeps happening.
Why always September?
;o)
Fifi
Isn't it that song .. something about 'always rains until September'. I could hum it for you. I'm good at humming. Apparently.
Of course in the manner of intermittent faults, it will now stop happening just because we're all watching.
As a matter of interest, is it always the same date in September? Might be worth recording that in the email.
Aunt D - 'it might as well rain until September'. Can't remember any more of it, but perhaps some kind froggger could remind me who sang it. Iy is of course now running in my head which is worse than usual as I can only remember the one line.
Aunt Dahlia - I think you may be in contention for the "longest delay in posting" award. One of yours from 6th April has just appeared.
btw Your quote from Ernest Dowson -". . . in my fashion" was from the same poem that I gave the Latin title of. Problem is, you know these things but I have to Google them!
I've never ever been sent to September!
admin annie (6) - Apart from my own rendition the original and best was by Carole King who also wrote the lyrics.
Sorry forgot to include the lyrics. (It even mentions the Beach - ain't that appropriate?)
What shall I write?
What can I say?
How can I tell you how much I miss you?
The weather here has been as nice as it can be
Althought it doesn't really matter much to me
For all the fun I'll have while you're so far away
It might as well rain until September
I don't need sunny skies for thing I like to do
'Cause I stay home the whole day long and think of you
As far as I'm concerned each day's a rainy day
So It might as well rain until September
My friends look forward to their picnics on the beach
Yes everybody loves the summertime
But you know darling while your arms are out of reach
The summer isn'[t any friend of mine
It doesn't matter whethee skies are grey or blue
It's raining in my heart 'cause I can't be with you
I'm only living for the day you're home to stay
So It might as well rain until September
September, September, oh
It might as well rain until September
My listening has been sporadic as I try to write my ruddy dissertation and so keep thinking we are upon conference season and I have just missed the run-up to it....
Thanks to all involved for their rapid response to sort this and for the hard work to keep the blog running.
Regards
John
RJD (7), nope, I once saw one appear after 6 days. I mentioned it -- it was earlier this month but alas I don't recall the thread name.
Also, re 10, I'd say you were showing your age, but I know those lyrics too. Of course, that's because my mother used to like that song... ;-)
Ap (12) - Showing my age? I'm only 23! - It was my grandfather told me about it.
well I am just grateful to be reminded about where I knew it from, many thanks for the lyrics RJ but sadly they have yet to spark off any more of the tune in my head.
I thought my husband had played me Carole King when we first met but actually it was Dory Previn.

Well RJD and Appy, I had the single and used to sing along :o(((
Ahh, Carole King and THAT song ..... very very early memories of Sunday mornings and Two Way Family Favourites - of which that was one.
Now, c'mon, I know I'm not the only frogger who'll remember that particular programme?
Big Sister - "Two Way Family Favourites" My grandfather told me about that too!
RJD: ...... and my real name's Scarlett Johannssen!
RJD - So, let's get this right, you're about 6 years' old?
Hello Scarlett. How's the weather in LA?
Hello Scarlett. How's the weather in LA?
RJD may be 6 in human years but he's really 7 times that of course: he is a dog after all.
Woof!
To the 42 year old dog:
I've left a big pack of sausages on the Beach for you to take back to your grandfather. I believe they are a variety very popular with both him and Cliff Michelmore so you should find them to your taste.
Now, a la Clark Kent, I'll just readjust my dress .....
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No - It's Scarlett Johannssen!
Big Sis - Ah, I remember hearing about Cliff Michelmore - he sang with the Shadows, didn't he?
Scarlett's had a good week - top of the list of bodies or something, apparently. I wouldn't know about these things!
I've been Septembered - first time in weeks. But it this the hotmail link? Feels like just another thread to me. Oh dear, so much technology, so little brain on my part...
Annasee, no, you have to email the hotmail address under 'categories' on the right.
A, x.
Funny thing is, even when you're back in September (as I was all last night), the new ohlookseptemberagain link to this thread operates fine, as does the one to the various beaches - including the current one.
How does THAT work? They hadn't even been inVENted then! Maybe we should get Russell T Davies to explain it . . .

Had to post as its September in Bradford! This means its not my Wedding Anniversary, which means I won't be on a promise!
Lets get back to April ASAP
And it's September here again!

September - and my TV license is due, again!
Me thinks something is afoot.
