Carolyn, Caroline and Me
Eddie's in the sun, Caroline Wyatt's in the sun with a few barrels of French cognac, and even Carolyn Quinn's been allowed out in her wellies. Which leaves me, Carrie Gracie, in the bowels of a building where weather seems improbable, really just an opportunity to get it demonstrably wrong for listeners everywhere. But who needs cognac? Who needs wellies? When you can have Tony Blair throwing his toys out of the pram in Brussels for the last time and Gordon Brown grilled by the big beasts of the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ jungle? I rest my case.
To rub it in Caroline Wyatt sent this snap from her report that will be on the programme tonight.

Cognac. I was there last week, one of my favourite places.
And Caroline looking v. different to her normal business-like self. Good picture. I wonder if she took in all the distillery tours and imbibed all the tots given out at the end? Might account for the happy look on her face.

Have some pictures of St Quentin if thats any help? had a lovely Warm goat salad overlooking the theatre.
Must look up his story but the cathedral has the mummified relic of St Quentins Hand (urgh) and his Chef. Is that his hair piece? I did not feel the urge to photograph these.
I'm sure one french cathedral is reputed to have The Lord's Prepuce as a relic... I'm off to the naugthy step.

Carrie - Welcome Back !! I was thinking the inclusion of your picture on the PM blog was just to brighten it up - I had no idea you were also a presenter. Looking forward to the show, but I may miss the first few minutes as I am glued to last night's Question Time with a stellar cast including the Hitchens brothers and Bozza Johnson..
Carrie, as it's likely you will present PM again in the future, you really should badger Marc into giving you your own blog login - it's a bit strange reading your entries listed under the name "Peter Rippon"...

I would have thought that warm goat was better than cold goat, ValP(11), although I would not say that it is one of my favorite meats. I had some at a party last year. The goats had been roasted whole, save for the head, so that you could ask to be served a bit of your favorite area - "A bit of top front, please."
It was not a salad, though. The vegetables had been cooked inside the chest cavity which meant that some of the vegitarians felt that they could not eat the vegetables either, the fussy little what-nots!

Goat is just like more flavourful lamb, as far as I have ever been able to make out, and is good for both stew and curry. If one simmers the meat first to get it off the bone and ends up with goat-stock one can skim off the fat or rather take off the half-inch of fat from the top and use that to make fried bread. This is *not* healthy eating, but it does taste ongerful, especially if it's home-made bread.
My son is a vegetarianian, so he feels iffy about eating goat: he says, the hat that goat ate may not have been a vegetarian hat. Figure it out for yourself, but *I* want to avoid the carnivorous hats my son apparently has to deal with.
