Complain about this postHere on a hillside in South Wales, we're at 0-1 on the Beaufort Scale - not the faintest movement even in the tops of the trees. I can't see any smoke, nor is the sea visible, but the garden pond is like a mirror. Is there really such a thing a s the calm before a storm, or is this a meteorological myth?
Main interest today is tonight's gales - but the cold front that comes through overnight could produce a line-squall with tornadoes possible.

Complain about this postWell, so much for tornados - so far! The sky here in Cornwall, about 25 miles from Land's End, is bright and blue; as for the Beaufort Scale - ZERO! It's a gorgeous morning for doing a country walk, which is just what I'm about to do. Cheers. Roger.
