There's been some debate in this blog about the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳'s attitude to horseracing - so a piece of news today may be of interest.

We're announcing a new three-year deal with the wonderfully-named and that will guarantee the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe remains on ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ screens until 2009.

Today is the day that sees - and if you're reading this in time you can go to ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Two to watch live coverage. It is, of course, Europe's richest horse race and it never fails to be a great spectacle - though personally I still haven't entirely fathomed the French betting system...

The Arc therefore continues as a key part of our racing portfolio. As my colleague Barbara Slater has mentioned in her blogs, we have stopped covering some of the weaker events in the racing calendar where audiences have dwindled - but our range of crown jewels is unbeatable. The Grand National, the Derby, Royal Ascot and the Arc are days when racing fans are joined by millions of others to enjoy the occasion, and we're very pleased they're on ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Television and radio alongside our online racing services.
