Nunn in the running
A persuasive and thoughtful for Obama's vice-presidency pick comes from the New Republic.
"Sam who?" will be the reaction of many outside the US: Sam the man according to the piece.
I wonder whether this might be the key point:
"Few things would mollify the embittered Clinton machine more than an Obama running mate who isn't an instant threat to Hillary's future presidential ambitions."
The point is that Nunn is 70. He would be Cheney-like in having no long-term personal ambition. He would also help deliver Georgia, a state otherwise almost certainly McCain's. So maybe it isn't Webb and Virginia after all...
