A bit ahead of Iris Robinson who only voted on twelve days in the commons in the last year. OK as a labour member i am not a fan of other parties but the facts speek for themselves.
#No 1 above
Lets also remember that last year Iris apparently claimed over £19000 in respect of London Accomodation expenses.
Yet another example of the golden trough the Dup's multi-mandated constituency representatives feed from.
Looks like a Freedom of Information request should be made seeking a breakdown of the London Accomodation Expenses claimed by all our multi-mandated representatives.
I am not surprised by this fact after looking at Shaun Woodwards Register of Members interests in Parliament. Shaun has:-
- Estate in Oxfordshire from which rental income is received.
- Flat in France from which rental income is received.
- Flat in London from which rental income is received.
- House in New York State from which rental income is received.
- Land plot in West Indies.
- Holds shares in J. Sainsbury PLC.
- Director, English National Opera and Chairman of their Redevelopment Committee (unpaid).
- Director, Childline (unpaid).
- Trustee, Woodward Charitable Trust.
- Director, Marine Stewardship Council.
- Trustee, Royal Shakespeare Company Development Board.
- Trustee, The Victoria History of Oxfordshire Trust.
- Trustee, The Institute of Continuing Professional Development.
- Trustee, The Mulberry Bush.
- Patron, Bath International Music Festival.
- Patron, Macmillan Cancer Relief - Oxfordshire.
- Patron, Cancer Research Campaign - Oxfordshire.
- Patron, Sobell House, Oxfordshire.
- Vice-President, St. Helen's Council of Voluntary Services.
- Vice-President, St. Helen's Millennnium Centre.
How after all this would Shaun Woodward get time to come to Northern Ireland?
Martin,
What actual "need" is there for a secretary of state (who doesn't actually accept a salary for the role) to spend lots of time here post devolution?
I'm genuinely surprised that the figure is as high as it is.
