Do you remember your old teacher?

You remember the good teachers who had an influence on your life, don't you? We had an English teacher whose enthusiasm for literature was infectious. I can still hear her reading aloud the Importance of Being Earnest and barking the immortal line ...'in a handbag'.

Anyway, other people have been sharing stories of their school days and favourite teachers like Wendy at high school in Flintshire, and Elizabeth who was a pupil and then teacher at the same school in Wrexham.

Pupils at Rhyl's Ysgol Emmanuel might well one day remember the names of Christine Price and Claire Barker.

They have been nominated for awards at the finals of the 2007 Welsh Teaching Awards in Cardiff in June. Christine for Governor of the Year, and Claire has been nominated for Outstanding New Teacher of the Year. Last year their colleague Tabitha Sawyer was named Wales’ Outstanding New Teacher. Good luck to Christine and Claire.

Do you remember your teachers - good or bad?
