Owen's our hero again!
A quick trawl of the web and newspaper back pages shows that our very own Michael Owen is back on form and a hero again after scoring two goals in England's 3-0 victory over Russia last night.
The says he's the toast of England (!) this morning and goes on to say "if ever a player signaled he is back to his world best it was Michael Owen."
Meanwhile, the says 'lethal Owen back', while the says he left ' Russia reeling like a bear with a sore head'.
The Russian media like say their fans missed out on seeing players like Rooney, Lampard and Neville - Owen hardly gets a mention.
However, points out that 'Owen took his international tally to 40 with two clinical goals'.
Not surprisingly, in the US the focusses on Beckham - now a star over there - as he didn't feature in last night's game.
Closer to home, Owen's official website, , has yet to catch up with the man himelf but in the Q&A section with fans Michael says his injuries have been a low point in his career - but that seems to be behind him.
I guess we'll get an insight into all of that with Sky One's programme on Sunday - Michael Owen: A Year in the Life of which is now guaranteed a few more viewers as Owen's back in business.
