Friends of are asking for people to share any old photos or documents to do with the time the country park was once a private estate.
The info will help in the Friends' formal application for Lottery money - from the fund - to help with the restoration of original features in the 160 acre park and woodland.
Gilly Seddon and Tom Woodall from , based at , are hoping people will get in touch, explaining application judges want to see evidence of how the park used to look.
"If grant aid can be sourced, it would mean the restoration of some of the original features to their former glory," they say.

Children in Need today announces the latest round of grants with £60,000 coming to two local groups:-
Prestatyn Cricket Club, Prestatyn - £25,500
The cash will help a project to work with young people to increase their confidence and self esteem, and improve well being by enabling them to play cricket and involving them in social activities.
Women's Aid Delyn, Holywell - £35,290
The project provides information and support to children and young people suffering from the effects of domestic abuse.
