It starts here
Today I'm going to kick off with some suggestions we were sent by listeners yesterday. As you know, grew out of an email from Bob in Maryland, and we are following up an idea from Justin in Arizona. So here's more of your suggestions:
First, a text message from George in Ukraine:
I enjoy listening to your talk-show [Thanks George - all compliments gratefully received]. Many Ukrainians go abroad to work. Please, take in your programme the topic about employment in Europe.
As well as the SMS from George, a couple of you called in with ideas:
Francis in London spoke to me, asking about the demolition of houses in Abuja. He said that the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ has not reported it despite doing lots on the demolitions in Zimbabwe. Francis says what's going on in Abuja is much worse.
And Fiona took a call from Mel in London who wants us to talk about "tackling poverty and war through environmental investment".
What do you think of their suggestions? Do you have any of your own? Let us know.
Something we were talking about in the office yesterday is religion mixing with sports. A minor American football league has .
Then there's the story of Sonia Mirza, a Muslim tennis player in India who was criticised for wearing standard tennis atire, and Iran's supreme leader has vetoed an order by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to end a 26-year-old ban on allowing women in stadiums for major sporting events.
Should sport be separate from religion? Have your say (if you want).
Top of the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ news right now is the at the UN, where foreign ministers disagreed on how to tackle Iran's nuclear crisis.
Also, a charity reports that two million babies in the developing world .
And what about the problem of aid to the Palestinian Authority now it is led by Hamas?
The European Union is trying to find a way to continue providing funds without giving money to Hamas. The World Bank has warned that in poverty and insecurity if it continues to be starved of foreign aid.
