How to have a festival at home

Music festivals can be a great way to introduce children to live music and the joys of camping - as well as showing them that us grown-ups are allowed fun too! Many festivals are very family-friendly, but it can still be daunting bringing your little one for the first time. Luckily it's easy to have your own 'festival experience' without spending a penny or leaving the comfort of home! Read our tips below to find out how to stage your own family festival this summer...

Music

The music is usually the most important part of any festival, so make sure you have your perfect playlist sorted! Introduce your little ones to some of your old favourites, or bop along with yourÌýCBeebies friends.

Join in with some classics at the nursery rhyme stage or have a disco boogie with the Go Jetters, sing along with Hey Duggee or listen to Nick Cope's Popcast.ÌýÌý

Form your own band

If you’ve always dreamed of one day headlining a festival, then now is your chance! Make your own music kit and get jamming together, form your very own teddy bear bandÌýor mix your own tunes with Andy's Safari Sounds.

ÌýÌý

Get the look

Perfecting your festival look is one of the most fun parts of the experience, and super easy to do at home. Just get the dressing up box or some old clothes out and go wild! Little ones love creating their own outfits, and they'll be even happier if they can choose what the grown-ups wear too.

It doesn’t really matter what you wear as long as you combine it with wellies and some fancy headwear, like this simple flower crown from the Let’s Go Club. You could even make a festival bracelet like Evie and Dodge.Ìý

Home comforts

Set up a tent in your back garden or local park for the day, or snuggle up with sleeping bags and ‘camp’ in the living room together. This is a great way to start preparing little ones for future camping trips when they're older. Plus, avoiding the mud, rain and portaloo is always a bonus! You could print out Bluey's camping adventure book and have fun completing all of the backyard camping activities together.Ìý
