A Hospice for Cornwall

At present families living in Cornwall with life limited children have to travel to Little Bridge House in North Devon for specialist health care. 成人论坛 Radio Cornwall's Chris Young talks to some of these families about how the new hospice will help.

The news that the Children鈥檚 Hospice South West have revealed plans to provide a children鈥檚 hospice service to support life limited children and their families in Cornwall has been met with delight.

Families with sick children who currently have to cross the border into Devon to use the specialist facilities and care provided by nearest children鈥檚 hospice in North Devon are thrilled at the news of this appeal.

成人论坛 Radio Cornwall is pledging its support to the 拢5m appeal for the children's hospice in the county. The aim of the Precious Lives appeal is to save Cornish families long journeys to existing hospices at Barnstaple or Bristol.

Eddie Farwell, along with his late wife Jill, founded the Children's Hospice South West and opened Little Bridge House back in 1991. It was after years of travelling to Helen House in Oxford with their own two life limited children. Eddie joined James Churchfield on Monday's Breakfast Show...

Georgia Hazelton, who's nine, suffers from a severe lung disease. She's a regular visitor at Little Bridge House, the north Devon hospice. She's been telling Chris Young about a painting she did of herself which was auctioned winning widespread publicity:

Also supporting the appeal is Lieutenant Commander Chris Godwin, the Commanding Officer of the Search and Rescue Squadron, seven-seven-one, at RNAS Culdrose. His son, Colton, who had a genetic disorder, died last August aged eight months at Little Bridge House, the hospice in north Devon:
