The countdown to Cornwall's massive Boardmasters event has started, with the announcement of the first act to appear at the Rip Curl Unleashed festival.

Groove Armada has been dominating the dance scene, and filling nightclub floors for several years.

The band will be in Newquay this summer

Famous for some of the biggest dance anthems of all time Groove Armada will bring on the summer party spirit at the festival with their live show.

The band will perform a greatest hits set consisting of songs like I See you Baby, Superstylin' and At The River. They are the songs that made Groove Armada the household name they have become.

The dance outfit听formed when DJs Andy Cato and Tom Findlay met in 1995 and they have gone on to become one of the most successful songwriting partnerships of recent times.

From starting their own club night the DJs went onto become regulars on the club scene, releasing four albums, and reinventing the house music wheel.

Around three million album sales later Groove Armada has been a vehicle for success more than the pair could ever have imagined.

Support for the Groove Armada gig is still to be announced but an eclectic line up across the two stages is expected, featuring some of the hottest bands of the moment.听
