The young loggerhead turtle was washed up on a beach in Wales and had to be moved to Newquay's Blue Reef Aquarium to receive specialist treatment.听听 The scale and size of Flash the turtle 'Flash' as he's been named by staff at the aquarium is less than two years old and when he first arrived has was so sick he had to be tube fed twice a day. Staff were very concerned he wouldn't survive.听 成人论坛 Radio Cornwall reporter Pam Spriggs went along to discover that tube feeding a turtle is听a delicate operation.
Help playing audio/video 'Flash' is 20 cm long and was washed up on a beach on Sunday 20 July in a very poorly condition.听 He was immediately brought to Newquay by Dave Jarvis from British Divers Marine Life Rescue to Newquay as the aquarium is the expert place for dealing with turtle strandings.听 They have released two turtles back into their native waters after they were found washed up in Bude (during 2007) almost dead but amazingly they made a full recovery and are now back in the wild. An increasing number of loggerhead turtles are washing up on the shoreline.听It is hoped that Flash can be rehabilitated too.听听 Dink and James are released Two loggerhead turtles, which were washed up on the south-west UK coast this winter, have been flown to Gran Canaria and released back into the sea. Twenty-three loggerheads have been stranded on UK and Irish coasts so far this year, an unprecedented number. "Dink" and "James" were the only survivors.
