Based
on an ancient Indian healing system, the Ayurveda, an Indian head
massage (or champissage) is subtle and deep leaving the client feeling
deeply relaxed, de-stressed and rejuvenated.
The
massage can be done with or without essential oils depending on
the clients wishes. It is geneally performed in a quiet, warm room,
over clothes and with jewellrey removed. The recipient usually sits
in an upright chair with both feet flat on the ground.
The
consultation
Before the treatment can take place the therapist will do the initial
consultation where the client is asked about their medical history,
health and lifestyle.
Treatment
begins with both the recipent and the therapist taking some deep
breathes to relax. The therapist begins by using a combination of
deep, rhythimic kneading movemnents working over the entire upper
back, shoulders, and neck before moving on to the head.
The
head is then worked, with the scalp and muscles in the head being
squeezed, rubbed, pinched and tapped. The face and head are then
worked using pressure point techniques.
The
therapist then ends the treatment with some chakra balancing tecniques.
The result is a relaxed, refreshed and calmer you!
Most
holistic and beauty therapy centres in Cornwall perform Indian head
massage and you should expect to pay between 拢10-拢30
for a treatment lasting around 20-30 minutes.
