First
it was the Sound Of Music which received the karaoke treatment on
a grand scale, now it was the turn of the King.

Singalong-a-Elvis
gave hundreds of fans the chance to perform their favourite Presley
tunes at the Hall For Cornwall in March.
Two
excellent impersonators sang the classic songs on stage, while the
lyrics appeared on a big screen behind them.

Heath
Ashton as Elvis |
All
the greats were included from the rock and roll years (Hound Dog
and Blue Suede Shoes) through the movie years (Viva Las Vegas and
GI Blues) to the Vegas comeback period (My Way and American Trilogy)
The
audience were given goody bags featuring flags, and trumpets to
add even more of a party atmosphere to the Elvis night.
In
no time at all people were out of their seats dancing to the rock
tunes, and swaying to the romantic ballads.
The
two hour show included gospel, country, and blues capturing as many
of the Elvis hits as possible.

Suspicious Minds |
To
show the King was still as big a chart influence today, as he was
in his heyday, the night included the recent hits 'A Little Less
Conversation' and 'Rubberneckin'
Even
the man himself made a brief appearance on the screen, smiling in
a 50s pose. I bet if the King had seen the fun his fans had at the
Hall For Cornwall, he would have been grinning from ear to ear.
All
too soon the night was over, a familiar voice filled the hall saying
'Elvis has left the building, thank you and good night'.
Elvis
may have left the building, but nearly 28 years after his death,
the King is very much alive in the hearts of his fans.
