Douglas made an unexpected cameo appearance during zoologist Richard Dawkins' 1992 Royal Institution Christmas Lectures.

Zoology was one of Douglas Adams' many interests. He made a series and wrote a book Last Chance to See... about his travels around the world in search of animals on the edge of extinction.
He also contributed to 成人论坛2's , discussing a lemur called the Aye-Aye.
"...When you see it is like a sort of assemblage of other sorts of animals. It has sort of ears like a fox, it has little bitey rabbit's teeth, it has eyes like a bat's, rather like Marty Feldman's eyes looking in different directions, and then it's got a tail like a giant ostrich feather.
