As part of the nationwide Voices project, 成人论坛 Radio Derby's audio gatherer Marsha Ramroop has been out recording samples of local dialect.

There are loads of phrases associated with Derbyshire - from cob to gitty and mardy to ey up mi duck - it's clear this is an area rich in distinctive dialect.

So Marsha's been out with her recorder catching the conversations of people from Belper - in the north of the county - and Swadlincote, at the southernmost tip of Derbyshire.

What she got was not only entertaining but a fascinating insight into the variation in accents and dialect across our county.
