Derby's Big Screen will show live opera in the Market Place. Get your posh togs on, grab a blanket and make sure you're there for this landmark event. ToscaOn Tuesday 3rd July you'll be treated to Puccini's masterpiece, Tosca - 'live' on the big screen! The love, politics and ultimate tragedy of this compelling story inspired Puccini to write music as dramatically brutal as it is stunningly beautiful. The opera tells the gripping story of the terrible fate of the singer Tosca, in a love triangle with her lover, artist turned rebel Cavaradossi, and the evil Scarpia. The event starts at 7.00pm and will be compered by Kathy Rochford from 成人论坛 East Midlands Today. The Derby New Opera Company will also be there to sing extracts from Tosca. The screen will go live to Covent Garden at 7.20pm and the performance starts at 7.30pm. Opera running time is three hours. The only place you'll get to see this performance is on a Big Screen or at The Royal Opera House. It's not on the telly so听 this really is an exclusive treat! This is the second live relay from the Royal Opera House. Don Giovanni was performed to an audience in the Market Place on June 13th. The Tosca performance will be hosted by Derby-born Deborah Bull. She's a creative director at the Royal Opera House and former principle dancer with the Royal Ballet. During the intervals we'll, be going behind the scenes and you can text Deborah your messages and questions. You could even say 'hello' to another city as we'll be joining Big Screens all around the UK who'll all be watching this performance. What to bring along.It doesn't matter if you've never seen an opera before.听This promises to be a spectacle that will keep you glued to the screen. There's no public seating so pack a picnic, bring a rug or even table and chairs! Alcohol is not allowed in the Market Place so it's soft drinks only. All the city centre car parks will be open and there are public loo's by the Assembly Rooms Box Office.
