Memories: Wembley and the Premier League

Twelve months ago, Rams fans everywhere were enjoying Wembley and the prospect of Premier League football. How the mighty have fallen!

Bank Holiday Monday, May 2007.

Wembley. Derby County. The Premier League.

The city was on a high and Rams fans throughout the world were ecstatic.

Thousands travelled to London - thousands more watched the Play-off final on TV or listened on 成人论坛 Radio Derby.

But those highs lasted only a few short months. Derby County failed to perform on the pitch, the results were dire, Billy Davies left, a new board took over, a new manager was brought in. But the Rams never recovered.

Rather than the prospect of titanic clashes with the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal, the club and the fans were instead faced with the prospect of the team bearing the title of the worst in Premier League history.

It was a painful season. But at the end of it the fans, as they did at the beginning, waved the black and white flags with pride.

What do you remember about that weekend? Or about the trip to Wembley... did you go?
