What do you think of Derby's new-look Cathedral Green and the swing bridge?

it needs policing, local yobs with skate boards and bikes are menacing to pensioners who get in their way.the area is now fine but not so welcoming.

The bridge swings upstream due to the pivot position only being able to be located on the west side of the site. The mast is also situated away from the silk mill, and when closed the bridge deck can still be used as a through-way

Why does the bridge swing UPSTREAM against the current when the only time it will be open is when the river is prone to flooding?

Ive seen far worse footbridges than this one built recently. Derby should be pleased with this new addition.
