The birth of a baby black rhino at Paignton Zoo inspired children from all over the country to get out their pencils! We asked youngsters up to the age of 12 to send in their drawings of Sita and baby, following the birth of the calf on 5 March.
| Clare, 11, from Market Harborough, wins a camera |
On offer to the best picture - as judged by the zoo's rhino keepers - was a digital camera. Some 30 drawings were sent in, and judging wasn't easy! In fact, it proved so difficult that the rhino keepers decided there should be two winners - one for the best up to the age of eight, and one for the older category. In the end, and after quite a lot of deliberation, they chose the drawings by Tegan, aged 8, from Redruth, and Clare, aged 11, from Market Harborough. Well done to Tegan and Clare - the cameras will be in the post soon! Thank you to all the children who took part by sending in such lovely drawings. You can take a look at them in the gallery linked from this page. |
