Q: Tell us about yourself:
A: I am 41 and have been writing music on and off since 1988. I enjoy creating different types of music, not just sticking to one genre, and compose background music (suitable for soundtracks), classical and alternative rock styles. I play the synthesizer and the electric guitar.
Q: Where in Devon are you based?
A: I live in Barnstaple. Devon is rich in scenic beauty and culture and will always provide inspiration for creative individuals. I seek inspiration from the North Devon coastline.
Q: Whose records do you have in your collection?
A: Ennio Morricone, Hans Zimmer, Howard Shore; classical composers Wagner, Ravel and Vaughan Williams; Muse, Placebo, Sarah Class, Lisa Gerrard, Dead Can Dance and the Medieval Babes.
Q: What do you think of the current music scene?
A: There is a huge amount of creativity in Devon and many bands and solo performers are now attracting good press coverage and recognition for their talents.
Q: Which three words best describe your music?
A: Melodic, classical, romantic.
Q: Which track are you auditioning?
A: Romantic Twilight - it's the sixth track on my album Ocean Splendour, which I produced and published myself. The track is about people in love who are sailing across the ocean in an 18th century sailing ship - it's about a journey based on companionship.
Q: Complete the sentence: "When I become famous..."
A: "...I will remember and appreciate the long road that took me there and all the people who made a difference to my career, and realise what a privilege the journey to fame can be."
Q: In your own words - go on, sell yourself!
A: My music has a sweeping, epic romantic grandeur that swells like the sea. Sometimes it is enchanting, but the music that flows through me will always be rich with beauty and melody.
