Sheila Boxshall has been dancing with the Bows 'n' Belles clog dancers since it was formed in 1987.听 It first started when she popped along to Aldham Village Hall to see a demonstration, and found herself dancing straight away!

The clogs are handmade for each dancer

The group of 16 women range in ages, and come from in and around the Colchester area.听 Many of them are the original dancers from 1987.听

North West Clog Dancing is a form of Morris Dancing originating from the mill towns of Lancashire and Cheshire.听

The clogs have leather uppers and wooden soles designed to make a lot of noise and to mimic the sound of the looms in the mills.听 They are decorated with bells and pink laces.

To mark their 20-years, the Bows 'n' Belles clog dancers are off to the USA.听 They've had to raise 拢10,000 towards the trip, and managed to do so with a number of different fund raising events.
