John bird watching at dawn

John Thorogood from the Essex Wildlife Trust loves birds and he particularly enjoys listening to the dawn chorus at Fingringhoe Wick nature reserve near Colchester.

As the sun rises over the Estuary the rich sound of birds living on and near the water is mixed with the sounds coming from the nearby woodland.

Getting up just before 4am might be early but John feels it is worth the effort to appreciate one of natures spectacular performances.
