Born in Salford, Sir Peter Maxwell Davies was Composer/Conductor for the 成人论坛 Philharmonic for 10 years and in this concert the orchestra performs his Fifth Symphony.

Davies has cited the Finnish composer Jean Sibelius as an influence in this work, and partnered with a performance of Dane Carl Nielsen鈥檚鈥楢n Imaginary Journey to the Faroe Islands鈥� there is a touch of the midnight sun to this concert.
