About This Event
A reflection on homelessness and migration, a modern pilgrimage searching for a better place and a better life, this new work receives its world première in St Magnus Cathedral with a stunning array of performers before travelling to Nidaros Cathedral and the St Olav Festival.
A dramatic oratorio where a man and woman find themselves homeless and must keep travelling to find somewhere safe for their new born child. The work brings together the words of the Stabat Mater with those of the world-renowned Norwegian writer Jon Fosse in an intense and moving narrative set to music by Alasdair Nicolson. The Trondheim Soloists’ director Øyvind Gimse directs the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Singers and Trondheim Soloists with the celebrated Norwegian soprano Ann-Helen Moen and the eminent British bass Simon Bailey.
