Concert Information

The orchestra, under Dutch conductor Antony Hermus, opens the concert with the energetic, fizzing overture to Smetana鈥檚 comic Czech opera, The Bartered Bride - widely regarded as a major contribution to the development of Czech music

Russian pianist, Pavel Kolesnikov, who was named as a 成人论坛 New Generation Artist in 2014, joins the orchestra to perform one of the most popular concertos in the piano repertoire 鈥� Tchaikovsky鈥檚 Piano Concerto No. 1.

Closing the concert is Dvo艡谩k's melody infused Seventh Symphony, a work that marks a milestone in the composer's symphonic language.

Join us at 6.45pm for a free pre-concert talk in the Albert Room, where Brian Newbould will be discussing the evening鈥檚 works. Entry is free to ticket-holders for the concert, but space is limited so please arrive early to avoid disappointment.
