Japanese pianist Nobuyuki Tsujii returns as soloist in Rachmaninov鈥檚 demanding Piano Concerto No. 3 alongside the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and its Venezuelan-born Chief Conductor Domingo Hindoyan. The lush sprawl of Rachmaninov is framed by the rhythmic energy of the Symphonic Dances from Bernstein鈥檚 West Side Story and the musical contact sport of Honegger鈥檚 tone-poem Rugby. The UK premiere of Mexican composer Gabriela Ortiz鈥檚 Clara Schumann-inspired Clara completes the programme.
