About This Event
Exploring the idea of the orchestra as the perfect embodiment of teamwork, this innovative performance recasts the classical concert as an immersive experience. Associate Artists of the Bristol Beacon, the Paraorchestra is the UK鈥檚 only ensemble made up of disabled and non-disabled professional musicians. It performs Mozart鈥檚 Symphony No. 40 from memory, and on the move, in an array of choreographic formations and combinations, its four movements interspersed with new music from Ivor Novello Award-winner Oliver Vibrans. The Virtuous Circle places the audience at the heart of the action and underlines the democratic nature of the orchestra: no musician is more important than any other, yet each individual has value.
