Nigel Haworth
Nigel Haworth was born in Whalley, Lancashire, and he has returned to his roots for his latest venture — the newly-restored Three Fishes by Nigel Haworth. As Chef Patron, Nigel is leading a ‘farm to fork’ culinary experience that’s a real passion.
The move back to The Three Fishes represents a full circle moment for Nigel. It was the location of his first gastro-pub kitchen, originally launched in 2004, though the 2022 incarnation represents a different vision.
From his initial training in Lancashire, Nigel has enjoyed a culinary journey covering London, Scotland and Switzerland, before returning home to take over as Head Chef at Northcote Manor in 1984. By 1995, he was named the Egon Ronay Chef of The Year and just a year later, gained his first Michelin star.
For more than three decades, Nigel was the driving culinary force behind Northcote. In that time, alongside co-founder Craig Bancroft, he transformed its unique location in the small village of Langho, Lancashire, into a place of gastronomic pilgrimage. The Hotel and Restaurant grew over 30 years from a restaurant with rooms to a boutique 26-bedroom hotel, with a Cookery School, Chef’s Table and Private Dining.
Nigel also created one of the jewels in Northcote’s crown – the annual gastronomic event, Obsession, which celebrates great food, wine and a meeting of friends, old and new, bringing together celebrated chefs from around the world.
Outside of his own kitchen, Nigel is a chef consultant, an author and has appeared on numerous TV shows, including Masterchef, Great British Menu and Saturday Kitchen and provides the fine dining experience for The Blenheim Club, a philanthropic private member’s club, launched in 2022.
