Philip Friend
Philip was a contestant on series one of Britain's Best Home Cook. He is a maths teacher from Surrey who has loved food ever since he can remember.
Growing up in the 70s, traditional British cuisine is what he most loves to cook: prawn cocktail, a roast with all the trimmings and Black Forest gateau with a more modern take would be his ideal menu. Delia鈥檚 Complete Cookery Course is still his cookery book bible, as it was a huge source of inspiration while growing up.
