Sunflowers are great plants for the beginner, as they are easy to grow from seed and put on a good show right through the summer. 'Infrared' produces flowers in an attractive range of red bicolours which are guaranteed to add warmth to any planting scheme. Plants produce lots of branches ensuring a continuous supply of blooms. The flower heads are good for cutting or can be left on the plants to form seeds, which will attract birds to the garden later in the year. This variety features in the Gardeners' World Sunflower Trial 2004.
