Time to try something new?

Saturday 20 to Friday 26 May is Adult Learners' Week, and 成人论坛 Hereford and Worcester Action producers, Sue Broome and Jacci Phillips, will be on hand to help you find a course that suits you and your interests.

What can you try?

The choice is huge with almost a million full and part-time courses on offer in the UK, so you're bound to find one you'll enjoy.

You can have a go at just about anything and in a few weeks you could be saving someone's life after a First Aid course, have designed yourself a webpage, built a dry-stone wall or be dancing the Salsa - the world is your oyster.

Sue Broome says: "Anyone can call us and we'll try and find them the course they've always wanted to do but never quite got around to it!

"There are some wonderful taster sessions and courses people can try.

"Learning isn't like being at school; it doesn't have to involve classrooms, assignments and exams - nowadays learning is dynamic interesting and fun."

To prove it 成人论坛 Hereford and Worcester Action held their own Media Skills Workshop at their studios in Worcester.

Three mature students hadn't had any previous experience making films but in just two hours, with help from Leonie Collier, 成人论坛 Hereford and Worcester Local TV's Community Producer, they had made a short film for TV.

Get up and go

There are many reasons for wanting to learn something new, from improving your job prospects or professional skills, to meeting like-minded people, learning a new hobby or stretching yourself just for the fun of it.

This Adult Learners' Week initiative with 成人论坛 Hereford and Worcester Action is in conjunction with NIACE (National Institute of Adult Continuing Education).

Jo Knight is the promotions co-ordinator for NIACE, she says: "Adult Learners' Week is the biggest national celebration of learning in the UK.

"Learning can be anything from how to text on your phone to going into a 成人论坛 studio to see what happens behind the scenes, it鈥檚 all learning, and about gaining skills people wouldn't normally have the opportunity to have a go at."

Adult Learners' Week is for you - it's all about something you're interested in, which could be family history, garden design, a new sport or that Maths O Level you failed at school!
