Ghost caught on camera

A Ross-on-Wye girl believes she's photographed a ghost at a newly refurbished docks warehouse...

A 13 year old girl from Ross-on-Wye in Herefordshire has photographed what appears to be a ghost.

The picture was taken by Abigail Williams on Tuesday 29 July 2008 at the National Waterways Museum Gloucester Docks, and a ghostly arm can clearly be seen draped across the display.

When the photograph was enlarged and enhanced, it became apparent that it wasn't just an arm, but a whole body.

Museum staff believe the recent refurbishments at the museum must have disturbed a ghost.

Abigail's father, Mark said: "We didn't see anything on the camera when we were in the museum, it was only when we returned home and downloaded the photo onto our PC that we saw the arm.

"We just kept staring at it; we couldn't believe it."

Chris Hayes, Museum Manager, said: "We were amazed when we saw the photograph.

"In the past, visitors have told us about seeing a man dressed in black and museum staff have heard footsteps when the museum has been empty.

"Our curator has also heard a voice, even though she was the only person in the building at the time, but this is the first piece of evidence of an actual ghost."

Orbs

The museum has contacted Lyn Cinderey, a member of Parasoc, who runs ghost walks around the docks and the city, to try to explain the phenomena.

Lyn said: "I am really intrigued by the photograph; when I visited the museum, I discounted a number of possible explanations, such as patterns in the wood, and while I didn't manage to capture the arm in my photographs, I did record lots of orbs around the barrels."

Orbs are light anomalies which are the first manifestation of a ghost.

Cheltenham based Parasoc will be holding a vigil at the museum to carry out further investigations.

The museum is housed in an original dockside building, Llanthony Warehouse which was built in 1873 and originally used by Wait James & Company, corn and building merchants.

I hate it when people don't believe in ghosts or orbs, i have recently taken photos at my house and caught many orbs and 3 ghosts in the form of mist, just like yours :) xI believe that this IS a picture of a ghost.... well done :)

That is ace but im ten so it would be!! cos i love ghost they ROCK!!!!But orbs well i dont know about them well no one does. Its most likely that the man or woman forgot to wind up the camer at the top so there is a reflect from the last picture they toke. thank you for reading this,kits :)

Orbs are generally believed to be dust illuminated by the flash being too close to the lens.

I Took This Picture, And I Took It On My 3.2 Mp Camera Phone So I Dont See How I Need To Polish My Lense. It Has Been Sent Of So It Isnt Made Up. A Team Of Specialists Have Analysed The Picture And Are Convinced Of Its Authencity. Regards.

I doubt it is a ghost. Pictures like this can occur if you take a picture behind glass.

it looks to me like a person moving quickly in a picture taken with a slow shutter speed due to it being indoors in low light conditions.

"Orbs ARE light anomalies which are the first manifestation of a ghost"... nice balance there! How about orbs are believed by some to be light anomalies...etc. Others believe them to just be, well, light.Amazing too how the "ghost" appears to be wearing quite a modern t-shirt... it's called a reflection I think. She might want to polish her lense.

What a brilliant picture,and i would like to think that it was a picture of a ghost but,to me it looks like a person sat with there arms draped over something.Almost as if the photo was taken over another picture..??

I think that that is so strange but quite freaky too. I have never seen a picture like it and i've never seen a ghost before or felt a ghost's presence.Good luck with figuring out what it may be, a spirit or a ghost, who knows?!
